Ip Man (2008)

Ip Man is a 2008 Hong Kong martial arts biopic that is based on the life of Ip Man, the celebrated martial arts master of Bruce Lee, and the first to teach the Chinese martial art of Wing Chun openly. The film focuses on events surrounding Ip that took place in Foshan between the 1930s to 1940s during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Ip Man is adapted from the life story of Ip Man, the grandmaster of the Wing Chun style of Kung Fu and Sifu of legendary Kung Fu superstar Bruce Lee. This film is the first important record of the master’s life.
Ip Man 2 (2010)
Starring : Donnie Yen, Sammo Hung
Donnie Yen reprises his role as Ip Man, a grandmaster of Wing Chun martial arts. Continuing the story from 2008’s Ip Man, he travels to Hong Kong to propagate the discipline of Wing Chun while facing the rivalry of local master Hung Ga. We are also introduced to a young Bruce Lee (Jiang Dai-Yan) who would later become Ip’s most famous disciple.
Ip Man: The Legend Is Born (2010)
Starring: Yu-Hang To, Ip Chun, Sammo Hung
This film explores the early life of Wing Chun martial arts master Ip Man.
Prodigal Son (1980)
Starring Sammo Hung, Frankie Chan, Lung Chan
Yuen Biao is a spoiled martial artist-wannabe son whose wealthy father pays others to lose to Yueb during fights. When his father’s scheme is revealed to him by a seasoned Peking Opera performer, Yuen vows to learn kung-fu for real. But first he has to persuade Lam to take him on as a pupil, then there’s Lam’s rival colleague and a mysterious, fight-seeking challenger to contend with!

Kung Fu Wing Chun (2010)
Starring : Bai Jing, Yu Shaoqun, Kara Hui, Yuen Wah, Yuen Qiu, Colin Chou
Kung Fu Wing Chun tells the story of origin of Wing Chun Kung Fu. Yim Wing Chun, born in Guangdong, is a young girl, with a strong sense of righteousness. Gao Shing is a local bully who wants to force marriage upon Wing Chun. Wing Chun tries to fend him off, but in vain. While Wing Chun’s situation seems hopeless, she comes across Ng Mui, a nun who’s highly skilled in martial arts. To find ways to get Wing Chun out of the pending loveless marriage, Ng Mui teaches Wing Chun martial arts. Wing Chun soon starts to learn under Ng Mui a martial art that would change the world.

Michelle Yeoh plays martial arts legend Yip Wing Chun in this action comedy. Abacus plays a shrewd businesswoman while Wing Chun is a top fighter. A beautiful widow named Charmy rolls into town and is taken in by the duo. But Charmy also grabs the attention of loutish bandits, who decide they’ll steal her for a wife.
The Grandmasters (2013)
Starring Tony Leung, Zhang Ziyi
The producers of The Grandmasters have released posters of the film featuring lead actors Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi.
Leung plays Yip Man in Wong’s take on this master of the martial art of Wing Chun and Bruce Lee’s mentor. Yip Man’s story has been popularized in recent years in several other movies including the Ip Man series starring Donnie Yen.
